Because it's so obvious, Brighton's beaches are more for walking and other traditional seaside activities than for swimming. There are times when it's possible to go for an English Channel swim in sandals, but only if it's sunny, the temperature is high, and there isn't too much wind. Sea kayaking, board paddling, dinghy sailing, windsurfing, and kiteboarding are some of the water sports that can be rented and taught here on the right day.
