Greece Map: why holiday there?

In the summertime Greece is a marvel of cloudless skies, bleaches beaches, memorable monuments and endless historical truth and legends, while locals are generally friendly and English language is not a problem.
Greek transportation, land and sea, is mostly modern, works well and is not expensive.
Athens, Crete and Meteora will satisfy the need to view stunning ancient sites, while Halkidiki, the Greek Islands (especially the Cyclades) and the sparkling waters will pleasure beach seekers.
But beware, prices are not very cheap, seafood offerings can be disappointing, particularly if you’re surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea at that point, while city suburbs are as overbuilt and underattractive as anywhere in Europe.

Best seasons in Greece

Best season: April – June, September – mid October for sightseeing, though the seas (Ionian, Aegean, Mediterranean) will be chilly for swimming till May/June. The very, very best month for visiting the islands is September, with warm seas, fewer tourists and most ferry services still operating.
OK: mid July – August. But. . . the country is over heated, overcrowded and suffers the random Meltemi wind, making sea voyages wobbly and beach use uncomfortable.
Worst: Mid October-February is the cold, wet season so apart from a cool shuffle around Athens winter is to be avoided.
