Carnival Of Venice: The Floating City’s Masked Fete (Italy)

Every year, the Carnival of Venice takes place. It occurs soon before Lent, a six-week Catholic liturgical festival. Locals and guests are encouraged to dress up, put on masks, and march in outrageous costumes. This is a common misunderstanding.

St Patrick’s Day: The Feast Of Saint Patrick (Ireland)

St. Patrick's Day is a national holiday in Ireland. It commemorates the death of Ireland's patron saint. Many nations now commemorate St. Patrick's Day! What are you going to see? Shamrocks, leprechauns, and green beer abound. The celebration takes on a whole new significance in Dublin, the capital city. Parades, concerts, and even treasure hunts are all part of Lá Fhéile Pádraig (St. Patrick's Day in Irish).

Vinterjazz: Copenhagen’s 3-week-long Musical Feast (Denmark)

Vinterjazz is a must-see event on the music calendar in Denmark. Imagine a nation with 600+ concerts, 100+ venues, and 25 independent organizers. It's no surprise that the event attracts visitors from all around the world! It's the perfect chance to listen to live jazz while strolling around Copenhagen's ancient districts. Since the 1950s, the city has been renowned as one of Europe's jazz centers. Therefore, these performers are the finest of the best!

Biggest Festivals In Europe

Festival season is approaching, and with so many top-notch events taking place, choosing which European festival (s) to attend might be difficult. To assist you, we've compiled a list of the greatest events taking place around Europe this summer.

Green Man Festival, United Kingdom

Despite its small size, Green Man is a festival that manages to include music with a variety of other elements, such as art, poetry, literature, and cinema. It has elevated the independent music festival scene to new heights, with all-night bonfires and hidden performances. Four Tet, Father John Misty, Idles, and Sharon Van Etten were among the artists who performed at the 2019 event.

The Experience: Woodstock (Pol'and'Rock)

The relaunched Pol'and'Rock event, which was inspired by the original Woodstock Festival and was formerly known by that name, is one of Europe's largest open-air festivals. One of the festival's most important (and, oh, very unique) traditions has been a group mud bath since its start in 1995.

Best Festivals In Europe

Donauinselfest, Austria

Donauinselfest, often known as the "Danube Island Event," is the world's largest and the best music festival. It takes place every year on an island in the middle of the Danube River in Vienna.

Train, Macy Gray, Amy MacDonald, and Sean Paul are just a few of the celebrities that have performed there. The greatest part (and one of the reasons it's so popular)? The event is free to attend.

Traditional Festivals In Europe

Europe is a place that is rich in its traditions and culture. Few important traditional events in Europe are listed below

Water Jousting, France

When: August 23-28, 2019.

The last night's fireworks show was a highlight.

The port of Sète has been honoring its patron saint in a riotous manner since 1666. Throughout the summer, the town dubbed the "Venice of Languedoc," has water-jousting competitions on its canals, but it's during its August celebration when things get going. The lancers strive to knock each other into the water while standing on a platform on the stern of a boat driven by oarsmen. Street parades, pop-up bars, and concerts are among the festival's 70+ activities.

Donkey Business, Portugal

When: July 25-29, 2019.

On Friday nights, the Dança dos Pauliteiros, a frenetic traditional dance set to bagpipes, is a highlight.

This event moves through the Portuguese communities of Miranda do Douro municipality, which is located in the north-eastern highlands near the Spanish border. The event honors the peculiarities of a territory cut off from the rest of the world by its untamed scenery, such as its distinctive donkey breed and the roaming minstrel tradition. Gaita-de-fole (bagpipe) musicians used to travel by donkey to deliver music and amusement to isolated communities. Every year, a herd of up to 20 shaggy-haired donkeys is paraded between two villages. Every night, there are concerts and feasts with local smoked meats and Douro red wine, but the seminars on traditional music, dancing, and painting are held on Saturday afternoon.

Wine And Song, Czech Republic

When: September 7-9

The Medieval pageant is a highlight.

Beer isn't the only drink popular in the Czech Republic. The yearly Pálava wine harvest is the ideal opportunity to experience burák, a deceptively simple semi-fermented wine that only arrives in late summer. On Saturday, the ordinarily calm square buzzes with pleasure as King Wenceslas IV and his entourage move through Mikulov in costume, and the weekend extravaganza celebrates winemaking around the old Moravian town of Mikulov, on the Austrian border.

The castle, perched high above the town, organizes wine tastings, and local wine and cuisine may be sampled on central Kapucnská street. The event, which attracts roughly 65,000 guests over three days, includes live music, children's entertainment, and other activities.

What Is The Biggest Music Festival In Europe?
