Oman tours

Heights of Oman Tour:

This 9 day trip heads off to traditional Omani villages, ancient traders and dramatic scenery. Trekking across plateaux, landscapes and visiting remote mountain villages, the tour is a great way to experience Oman's tranquillity and rich culture much of which is still relatively undiscovered.
Desert Landscapes: Trek in the spectacular and rugged interior of Oman, overnight in camps beneath the desert sky, travel by 4WD to the green mountains of the Jebel Akhdar with its villages scattered on the mountainside with terraced fields of fruit, cherry blossom and saffron all creating a palette of colours and scents. Cross the Sayq Plateau which is famed for its abundance of roses and its spectacular views into Wadi Mistall and then head for the lush landscapes of the Al Hamra area.
Muscat & Oman Gulf: Spend some time relaxing or trying out a variety of watersports at one of the resort's private beaches, discover more about the heritage and history of the country by exploring the souks and forts of Oman's capital, as well as seeing the spectacular Grand Mosque, the Royal Palace and historic forts.
Mountain Villages: Visiting isolated communities gives a great opportunity to meet the locals who normally have little interaction with western cultures. Sample the traditional cuisine and delicacies including lunch being served in an Omani home as well as observing the features of mountain villages including the architecture, farming procedures and traditional irrigation systems.

Arabian Nights Tour [kid friendly]:

A 9 day adventure for adults and children alike as we explore the Grand Canyon-like chasms where timeless villages top craggy peaks, visit desert forts, camp in the dunes, search for turtles, splash through freshwater-filled wadis and have the chance to ride camels.
Muscat & the Wadi Al Abyad: We start by exploring Muscat, its mosques, forts, Palace and souqs. Then north along the coast to see an ostrich and alligator farm in Barka, before taking 4WD vehicles into the renowned Wadi Al Abyad. Here we swim and walk up a wadi famous for its stunning scenery of precipices and remote villages. We drive on to Rustaq, a classic example of a desert fort and just perfect for children to explore! Finally, we arrive at Jebel Shams campsite, in the heart of the mountains and set up tents for a classic desert experience including a BBQ dinner under the stars.
Nizwa & the Wahiba Sands: From our base in the mountains, we walk down to Al Hamra and then have an afternoon by the pool in Nizwa, home to a wonderful fort. We then head deep into the Jebel Akhdar Mountains and look down into the mighty Jebel Shams from a viewpoint over 1000m above the valley floor. Next we leave the towns and villages behind and head to the desert camp, for some dune-bashing and camel-riding over the dunes.
Dhows & Turtles: Finally we drive to the coast at Ras Al Hadd, where we spend time looking for turtles coming ashore to lay their eggs - a magical experience. We continue our journey north to Wadi Shab, where there's the chance to see traditional Arabian dhows made by hand. There are also various stops for a walk up a wadi before spending some time on the beach and swimming in natural pools in Bimah Sinkhole. In Muscat, there is the option of cruising on a glass bottom boat and dolphin watching.

Arabian Sands Tour:

A 9 day adventure across a diversity of terrains and cultures in the beautiful yet little known Sultanate of Oman. From its Green Mountains to the dunes of the Wahiba Sands; from the oil-rich affluence of Muscat, to the timelessness of Nizwa.
After exploring Muscat - Oman's progressive capital - we load up for a 4WD trip along the coast. We visit the dhow-builders of Sur before swimming in freshwater pools at Wadi Shab and wild camping on deserted beaches.
Journeying inland into the stillness of the Wahiba Sands - an awe-inspiring 'sea' of dunes up to 200m in height - we camp under the stars in this vast isolated wilderness.
In and around the holy city of Nizwa we discover a country where water is more precious than oil; where hillside villages are painstakingly terraced and medieval falaj irrigation systems are still in use. A culture steeped in tradition, with livestock auctions as animated today as they were in the heyday of the nearby 17th-century Jabrin fort. Next we traverse the Akhdar ('green') Mountains for stunning views of Arabia's own Grand Canyon and return to Muscat.

Sultanate of Oman Tour:

15 days. As the Arabian Sands Tour above but with a week's sailing around the Musandam peninsula and Straits of Hormuz added to the end, visiting local villages and with plenty of chances to swim and snorkel in the warm Arabian waters before returning to Dubai.

Arabian Seatrek Tour:

This 8 day trip takes us to the astonishing Musandam Peninsula, Oman's rugged and arid northern tip, for an in-depth look at one of Arabia's best kept secrets. Using a traditional dhow we explore the fjords and islands of this barren land, swimming in azure waters and stopping overnight at remote coves.
Our journey begins with a tour of Muscat before driving to Aqqa for a relaxing swim. We join our dhow at Dibba, a short drive away and set off just as merchants and Arabian explorers did before us into the warm waters of the Gulf.

We head out to cruise amongst the isolated fjords of Musandam, pausing to visit villages, camping under the stars. This other-worldly rockscape of towering cliffs is mirrored in the rugged interior of the peninsula, which we explore by 4WD vehicle from Khassab, Musandam's capital.
Again we see layers of strata supporting a dizzying display of peaks and plateaux: rising to over 2,000 metres, the jebels (mountains) conceal small pockets of cultivated land, carefully tended by the bedouins from the Shihu tribe.
