Why holiday in Hawaii?

Hawaii, a hot and sunny island group of classic Pacific beaches, majestic mountains, rainforests and waterfalls, though note that these last three are not much in evidence on Oahu, Hawaii's first port of call for most tourists, a side trip to one of the less busy and more overgrown lumps of lava being necessary for real rural escape.

The Hawaii island cluster is 2,500 miles from any major landmass so a lengthy flight will be required, and don't expect Hawaii to be oozing all-over style, upmarket hotels offer plenty of that but Oahu island has its fill of strip malls and fast-food chains.
