Why Travel to Ireland?
This is a country that gets tourists well away from traditional crowded, stuffy Europe, with its clean air, luxuriant green (it gets watered regularly! ), dramatic coasts and open, natural landscapes.
This is an ideal vacation for outdoor folk who like to walk, climb or bike in reasonable isolation but can still find a friendly English-speaking face when they get back to their lodging, along with a hearty meal and a glass of Guiness.
Ancient sites range from derelict castles to prehistoric mounds, though road surfaces are frequently holy (no, the Pope hasn’t blessed them), so travelling around can be slow and bumpy experience.
Beware a tendency for some service personnel to be ‘extravagant’ in their billing and always carry a raincoat!
