Why holiday in Finland?

Cities are home to modernist mediocrity as well as medieval castles but everything goes into hyperdrive in the summer as both the sun and the locals refuse to go to bed.
Finnish islands along the south coast and the inland lake area become busy with watersportsmen but wilderness seekers can find plenty of quiet nature, though heading north to Lapland is a more dramatic option.
Criminals are few and the country's infrastructure - such as public transport - is very well-maintained.

However, Finland is a costly place to party, especially involving alcohol which is curious because drunk males are common and can be troublesome. Out of town the endless repetition of trees/ water/ trees makes travel monotonous.
