Cathedral Rock and Oak Creek, Sedona, Arizona.
Sedona is a magical little city (only in America could this tiny one-horse town be called a city!) at just the right elevation to get plenty of sunshine but avoid summertime overheating or winter freezing - unlike neighbouring Phoenix and Flagstaff which both suffer from climatic overloads.
Furthermore, with little in the immediate vicinity but trees, rivers and red rocks, the air is about as pure as can be, so the activity possibilities of golf, tennis, fishing, rafting and 100+ hiking, biking and horseback riding trails are excellent.

Sedona, a one chrome horse town.
Add a bunch of artists, nature-lovers, affluent retirees, spiritualists and other psychic practitioners to fairly low-key entrepreneurs and Sedona makes a beautiful and interesting stop on the tourist trail coming from Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Monument Valley or Verde Valley attractions.

A weather-vane in a town where art-attacks are a pleasure.

Yup, this is a metaphysical shopping paradise.

A rough idea of the psychic - or should that be psychedelic - leanings of Sedona residents.

And the mysterious Bell Rock. What's the point? Good hiking destination? (Yes but not the point). Good mountain biking (Yes but no). Good horseback riding...
