Beaches on the Costa Brava are often rocky, particularly those around the Baix Emporda, but rocks can be a positive if they are flat, making comfortable, warm sunbeds with no sand stuffing up the orifices and leaving the lapping waters clear as a bell. Little Aiguafreda beach is one of the best, especially since there's an excellent hostal nearby providing all those little necessities for a supreme beach experience.
