So, Madrid is not half as traffic laden, polluted or dirty as one might expect; it's in fact a very walkable city with plenty of stunning buildings and museums to please the eye, a long and terrible history to tease the mind and a rampant night life to empty the pocket. Just remember: Don't go in winter unless you are a lover of biting winds and leave the kids at home with Uncle Ernie!
