London, England

The Museum of London entrance more-or-less in the hideous Barbican complex, in 'The City'.
The Museum of London tracks development of the city from pre-history through to modern-day life via archeological finds, historic documents, paintings and thousands of ancient objects, including a Roman bikini and the Lord Mayor's carriage. The story of the city's growth is demonstrated and explained in chronological order. The museum has nine permanent free galleries and regular free gallery tours during the week at 11am, 12 noon, 3pm, 4pm.

But classic Tuscan villa-style homes in London were not exactly appropriate for English weather!
The London Museum core collection numbers about 1 million objects as well as 6 million archeological finds.
Collections include: fashion, textiles, paintings, prints and ancient artifacts.

Charles I (Stuart)
Charles I was executed by axe in Whitehall in 1649 after losing a war to Oliver Cromwell. The king claimed a 'divine right' to rule but Ollie thought Parliament should run the country. Charles reputedly died with great dignity and later had his head sewn back on to make amends.
