Since there was no hotel in Suq al Inan we were invited to stay at the police station. The evening was fine as we sat on the carpet with the local gendarmes, conversing in primitive Arabic and intermediate sign-language, AK47s in front of us, coca cola bottles to our right and a handful of Qat stuffed our mouths. After an excitable session we crashed on the floor for a couple of hours before being woken by our driver who told us there had been a shoot-out, one of our police buddies was dead and we should leave pronto. So, I guess that's Suq al Inan off the tourist trail then.
