But seriously, it is possible to find some things to do in this horribly overcrowded, desperately poor, chaotic, stinking, hot, muggy and deeply unpleasant city.
There's the Indonesia Museum in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Jakarta Old Town, Ancol Dreamland resort complex, some pretty good cuisine and many lovely people side-by-side with the mega-rich (who tend to splash their wealth in South Jakarta), thieves and con artists.
