Bali's Kecak dance

The popular and impressive Kecak performances used to be purely ceremonial before tourist agencies started demanding some cultural/visual attractions to keep the punter's interest up in the early evening. Also known as the Ramayana Monkey Chant, a Kecak troupe presents up to 100 performers chanting, swaying and throwing up their arms in a kind of mock monkey battle.
