The City Wall at Porta San Miniato, Firenze. This is one of the quicker routes from Piazzale Michelangelo to Ponte Vecchio and into the city centre.

The strikingly dull and Stalinist fascia of the Palazzo Pitti ironically conceals a cluster of great art galleries and museums, as well as the Boboli Gardens. Pitti is just a couple of hundred metres from Ponte Vecchio.

The Boboli Gardens, directly behind Palazzo Pitti are in formal sixteenth century Italian style. Quiet, calm and offering space, statues and panoramic sights of Florence, Boboli views are, however, not as good as those from Piazzale Michelangelo.
