Venice Carnival, Italy, Europe

European Festivals are not as dull as they may sound! Italy's Venice Carnival, for example, is one of the world's most colourful events, set in an exquisite location and with little chance of armed robbery on your person. Or there's the mad Edinburgh Arts Festival, another world-beating affair that will knock your dull brown socks off. Europe rocks!

Calendar Dates are sometimes unconfirmed and occasionally unreliable, so check before booking. TBC [A] = to be confirmed [announced]
