Versailles palace Hall of Mirrors, Paris, France

This is the 73m long Hall of Mirrors [best seen in the late afternoon], one of the highlights in Versailles, France's largest and the best-known palace. Described as 'a masterpiece of bad taste and magnificence' by Voltaire, the over-the-topness is staggering.
Versailles is located southwest of the capital in the woodland region known as the île de France [Island of France], appropriately not too far from Euro Disney, both being monuments to glitz and profligacy.
There are a plenty of tours heading for the palace from Paris, but is easy and much cheaper to travel individually via a 15 minute train ride and 5 minute walk from the nearest station.
