Paris, Notre Dame

Notre Dame. Paris, France

Like the image from the novel 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' written by Victor Hugo, the Cathédrale Notre Dame sits at a very heart of Paris - in fact the distance from the city to any place in France is measured from this cathedral.
Worshippers and travellers from all over the world come to pay homage at this masterpiece of French Gothic architecture.
Some of the more significant features are: three 13th century rose windows; the 7,800-pipe organ; really scarey gargoyles which require a climb up 387 steps to the top of the west facade for a close examination; a breath-taking city view.
Try to get there early in the morning to pre-empt the crowds.
