Our current favourite weather site. A fast, clear and efficient service from auntie beeb, the best for 5 days forecast just about anywhere in the world (you can set your town as 'home'), but also useful average rain, temperature, humidity, sunshine indicators. Lots of extras such as Top Winter Sun Spots, Top 10 Backpacking Locations (1. Auckland, NZ; 2. Bali, Indonesia...) with climate, Sun Index, travel tips according to climate, world weather news and so on. An interesting read, even if you don't need to know the weather!

World Meteorological Organization - one of the United Nations agencies, this site is well-balanced, offering reliable information in the form of official data on not only upcoming weather worldwide but also advice on the Earth's atmosphere, state of the oceans, water resource conditions and much more.
WMO offers monthly climate charts as well as immediate forecasts in either celsius or fahrenheit, though not for every city around the world.

Accuweather - 15 day forecasts for all world destinations in Centigrade.

Weather Channel - current conditions and 10 day forecasts for mostly the USA in Fahrenheit.

Weather Underground - current conditions and forecasts for all world destinations.

Weatherbase - the number one site for checking up on the kind of weather you can expect at thousands of worldwide destinations (ie the climate) at any particular time of year without needing to be a meteorologist to make sense of it. You can enter the maximum and minimum temperatures you wish to experience and the month you wish to travel for a list of the countries that are climatically suitable for you! Remember that averages do not necessarily reflect actual current conditions and so such information is best used to help with your future destination decisions, particularly, what time of the year to travel.

Specific Country Weather Sites

Meteorological Office United Kingdom and the world - the best site for weather in the United Kingdom but also gives five day forecasts for major cities around the world and is one of the most highly respected meteorological organisations on the planet. Consider localised or extensive flooding surrounding the more flood prone river systems during the autumn and winter (rain is your greatest enemy in the British Isles) before travelling.

National Weather Service USA only - the best site for weather in the USA which has the most diverse range of weather patterns on the planet. Consider the Arctic Circle winter freeze, north east coast blizzards, midwest tornados and south east coast hurricanes before travelling to these regions which suffer extreme conditions each year.

Weather Office Canada only - the best site for weather in Canada, much of which extends into the Arctic Circle. Consider the big freeze in the more northerly regions upon the onset of winter.
