Bay in winter (July). In the background is Lion's Head peak. Central
Cape Town is behind Lion's Head.

Camps
Bay is not as refined as neighbouring Clifton, but is much bigger,
less elitist and infinitely more accessible - with parking spaces
adjacent if you get there early enough. There is lots of accommodation,
from bungalows and guest houses to good hotels, and many smart eating
and drinking establishments nearby.

One side of Camps Bay provides good surf for wave riders, while attractive,
interesting Cape Town is less then ten minutes drive away. Waves are
on the chunky side but the east side has rocks that give some protection
for toddlers.
Downsides?
The Atlantic water is cold, it can get windy and the area inevitably
gets crowded in summertime (December-January).
