Big
and busy, Koukounaries has reasons to be one of the island's most
popular beaches: It's at the end of a bus route, it's backed by a
nature reserve [note: allergy sufferers may have problems with pine
trees in Skiathos and some other islands in Greece], the sand is unusually
soft, the water's clear - as always in Greece - and watersports are
on offer.There
are plenty of tavernas around, hotels too, within easy walking distance.
If
the crowds and noise are not to your liking, ten minutes walk away
is the more relaxed Banana
Beach, or grab some wheels and head for the north of the island
for more isloation.
