Dominican Republic, Hotel Las Ballenas Escondidas $

But they do have internet and whale-watching from January to March!

Maho Bay is an eco-resort with 114 tented 'cottages'
set on a rainforest slope above a fine sandy beach and surrounded

Virgin National Park. Although there're
no bathrooms attached to the tents, there are proper beds, decks,
electricity, cooking and eating facilities.
The hotel has an open-air restaurant and also a good water-activity
program. You can be close to nature in comfort.
It's a unique concept in the Caribbean
and reasonably priced and excellent for families and the young.
Maho Bay also offers 12 studios on a hill, large rooms each with a private bathroom and a deck overlooking the wild blue yonder,just 5 minutes walk from the tented cottages.
Aruba, Marriott's Aruba Surf Club $-$$
This four star beachfront resort offered by SellMyTimeshareNow.com features a lagoon-like lazy river which winds through the property among palm trees, a water slide and a swim-up pool bar. One, two, or three bedroom villas offer living rooms, dining rooms, full kitchens and balconies.
The resort is beside Palm Beach near Orenjestad, only a few minutes away from Aruba's main attractions and 13 minutes from the Reina Beatrix International Airport.

It's
a small, hip-hotel with 18 individual wooden
cabanas painted in vivid colours, each with ocean views or on the
ocean front. There are two private sandy coves and an adjacent
two mile public area called Love Beach.
Rental Kayaks and snorkeling equipment are available. There's a
nearby dive centre, charter boat pick up for boating, fishing, picnicking,
and PADI certified dive center.
Compass Point is simple but comfortable and home to a popular restaurant serving great
food and reasonable prices.
The resort is excellent for divers but not so great for party
people because it's a long way from from any night action.

Mango Bay opens right onto reef-fringed
