Upmarket refugees from Patong find peaceful, packaged havens in the three Ks. Sand is squeaky, golden white at all three beaches and well manicured by posh hotels that have more or less taken over the two Kata beaches. Karon is the biggest beach with most development, but is restrained compared to neighbouring Patong.
Low budget accommodation is very difficult to find in this area. The next bay south is the last on the west coast, Nai Harn.
